Ms Aashita Apoorva, Program Director for Partnerships and Development

Ms Aashita Apoorva has joined Program Director – Partnerships and Business Development position in May 2024 with the UQ-IITD Research Academy.

She brings 12+ years of experience in managing Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) projects with the Government of India and USA. The portfolio largely covered Science Outreach, Liaising with stakeholder government officials, academicians and industrialists, conducted extensive networking & collaborations, technical evaluation, financial disbursement, and communication. Some of the prestigious PAN India (Presence Across Nation) capacity building programs supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, GoI facilitated includes Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship (RRF) for overseas Indian nationals, Biotechnology Career Advancement and Re-orientation (BioCARe) and Women in STEMM (WISTEMM) for Indian Women scientists, UNESCO SDG focused Department of Biotechnology – The World of Academy Sciences, Italy (DBT-TWAS) Fellowship Program for young researchers/scientists from least developing countries, Khorana program for Scholars and Genome Editing/Engineering Technology Initiative (GETin) for young bio-technologists. She has also managed impactful bi-national projects in focus areas of agriculture, healthcare and empowering citizens through the US India S&T Endowment Fund (USISTEF) and path breaking R&D projects through the Biotechnology Industry Partnership Program (BIPP) implemented by the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), DBT. 

She holds a Master degree in Biotechnology and has certification in Project Management.
