About Abhimanyu

Abhimanyu completed his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from National Institute of Technology, Silchar. At NITS, he was the captain of the SAE BAJA team where he worked on the suspension and steering design of the vehicle. He was also selected for the FAST Summer fellowship of Indian Academy of Sciences to work on training an ML model for generating porous materials according to user requirements.

Abhimanyu’s research interest lies in the area of vehicle dynamics and control. For his PhD, he is working towards development of novel control algorithms and driver models for safer autonomous vehicles.

Project details

Autonomous vehicle control strategies for driving safety

Driving safety is an often overlooked aspect of autonomous driving. This project will study cooperative path-planning and tracking methods with algorithms tested on vehicle dynamic models of varying complexity. Current research gaps in driving safety will be addressed to deliver tangible solutions.
