Barath received his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Valliammai Engineering College, affiliated with Anna University. He also holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Design from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Coimbatore. He was a researcher at the Plasma Modelling and Simulation Laboratory, Department of Physics, Bharathiar University, for almost four years. He worked in two research projects funded by ISRO and DRDO, focused on the development of CFD models for thermal and non-thermal plasma applications like Hall Effect Thruster, Dielectric Barrier Discharge and ICP-RF Plasma torch. His primary research interest comprises of Plasma Modelling and Simulation using CFD and FEM techniques.
This project aims to investigate the non-equilibrium mixing behaviour of chemical species within the plasma plume with the help of CFD modelling. The specific attributes sought in this project is the coupling of reaction kinetics with the plasma species transport model.
