About Gautam

Gautam Kumar completed his master’s degree with a specialisation in Geoinformatics from Central University of Jharkhand. His thesis focused on geospatial modelling of sector-specific emission in India. He gained work experience as a project scientist in a research project funded by the World Bank at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

He has two research papers published in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include air pollution and its impact on health and the climate, along with probable solutions. He is passionate about research, teaching and exploring new places.

Balancing the health and climate benefits of ‘greening’ cities in India and Australia

Living around natural environments may have beneficial health effects. However, lack of evidence is a barrier to developing 'green' cities. Policy-makers in India and Australia want to reconcile the different dimensions of how changing the greenspace affects health and provides climate benefits.
