About Pooja

Pooja Madaan has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in commerce from reputed universities. She has cleared NTA-UGC NET with 98 percentiles. She has more than three years of combined corporate and teaching experience as assistant professor. She holds a patent and has a paper published in an international journal.

She has been involved in social work since 2018. Her activities include counselling students, visiting villages and teaching at NGOs.

Her research interests include social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, digital innovation and social media.

Building digital social enterprises in India

This project intends extending the current knowledge on social enterprises to the emergent digital technology context. Social enterprises have emerged in the broader social entrepreneurship literature as a viable organizational format that will pursue dual social and commercial value creation to targeted communities (balance mission and money). The literature on digital technology-based social enterprise formation and management will advance the current literature while providing valuable insights to practitioners. The proposed project will be administered by the University of Queensland (UQ) Business School (UQBS) and supervised by A/Professor Weerawardena who has extensively published in social entrepreneurship, social innovation and social value creation. is based. UQ Business School is independently ranked as one of Australia’s leading Business Schools. Professor Vignesh Illavarasan, IITD has a strong research record in IT. He has also won several competitive research grants. Both supervisors bring complementary conceptual and research skills for proposed project.
